Kwesi Selassie Thrills Takoradi (GHANA) With "Take Me Home Tour & Musical Festival" In February '20
Acting on a trio force of (nostalgia, musical service mission and a personal charity concern to give back to his birthplace), Kwesi Selassie decides to thrill Takoradi (GHANA) with a duo "Year of Return" gig themed "Take Me Home Tour and Musical Festival" in February 2020.
It's an open inference that Kwesi is surfing on a "Year
of Return* mission, even as he's co-themed his musical festival with the title
of his lead promo single ("Take Me Home") to emphasize his objective.
Returning home from Canada in February is then not a mere fun trip, but the
brother is up to a positive service which spans brand promotion, education,
entertainment, charity, tourism communal reunion and bits of a humanitarian
cause.
Off his tourism agenda, Kwesi has arranged with local trip
curators to pilot his Diaspora friends to and fro tourist sites like the
Ghanaian slave dungeons, Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum, Kakum forest, water falls,
and other places of historic interests.
Kwesi Selassie's "Take Me Home" single has guest
lyrics by Jamaica's Lord SassaFrass, which definitely builds a travel-back
connection between the African diaspora and local Africans living abroad ---
thus the song's exodus message prompts repatriation and nostalgic feelings.
The main stop of the tour concert will happen inside the
Akroma Plaza on 14th February, followed by a prior soccer gala and a later
charity donation rotation to three children's home on the 20th. The Twin City
special school is among the three beneficiaries listed to enjoy Kwesi's charity.
Kwesi Selassie will kick off a multi-radio in the twin city
(Sekondi-Takoradi) on Skyy 93.5, Twin City Radio 94.7, Big 96.7, Good News
96.3, Rob 98.7, Maximum fm, Kyzz 89.7, Fox 103.1 and other selected stations
supporting the concert. He will also sit TV interviews in Accra and Takoradi.
The concert is going mega by hosting down foreign supporting
artistes from Canada, Jamaica, UK and USA. Added to the bill are home artistes
coming down from several areas across Ghana to support the brother.
The "Take Home Tour & Musical Festival" is
officially under a twin presentation by Lion of Africa Productions and MO
Afrique.
