KOJO KOMBOLO Performs in TRIBUTE to
PAPA JAH at “5 To 5 Khaki Dance” --- AKUMA VILLAGE, 27TH AUGUST
Come August
27 at AKUMA VILLAGE, I & I Creation will hold a tribute concert in
remembrance and honour of PAPA JAH ---a loving ghetto father who passed away a
few years past. His passing is truly reverend. KOJO KOMBOLO, a young ghetto
godfather himself, is charitably stepping the tribute stage to add his musical
contribution to the many live freestyle epitaphs from fellow artistes like RAS
KUUKU, GOLD TEETH, KONKARAH and several
others.
Far earlier
before his official inclusion on the I&I Creation’s tribute concert bill, KOJO
KOMBOLO promised with serious determination that he’s back home to consciously reverse GH’s
reggae-dancehall’s fainting authenticity into its original refulgence --- a
state where lyrics and riddim are masterfully built for both positive revels and conscious universal
education.
Since his
arrival a few months ago from Switzerland, his country-in-law, he has worked
that promise up on 3 stages; Kwame Partan’s album launch [5th August,
Osu], “Heights of Reggae Dancehall” [13th August, Akuma Village]and
Weija Homowo Street Carnival [14th August, Weija]. His fire was
still red-hot intact on all three stages, but he’s ever poised to fume out extra
full heat to warm the tributary --- come 27th August, his second Akuma
Village stage presence.
I&I
Creation, a Papa Jah event promotion and rastafari lessons office, now
inherited by Puni and Paa Kow [his sons] and other ghetto executive heads, has
dubbed the tribute “5 To 5 Khaki Dance”, saying it both remembers and
celebrates a humble soul the ghetto has lost.
The other
artistes to perform are: Judanite, Wan Row, Burning Faya, King Vuvu, Jah Wyz,
Tsidi Fari, Xala, and a host of several others.
“5 To 5
Khaki Dance” is organized by 1&I Creation and supported by 13play and Herbs
& Spices.
